2011 was a rough year for my family and a lot of things fell by the wayside. One of them was my crafting. I sure hope 2012 is a much better year for me and everyone. I did go to a 3 day scrapbooking retreat in November in Glenn Allen, VA. It was very productive and everyone had a great time. There's another in the same place the last weekend in February. This month! Woohoo! Of course I still haven't decided exactly what I'm going to be working on but like normal, I'll throw things together at the last minute. Hopefully, I can be a bit more organized. Actually, I would like to be more organized as a new year resolution. I am such an unorganized person. I have friends and family have OCD but they won't give me any of it. :( (selfish I tell ya) LOL Okay, enough for now. I'll check back in soon. (promise)
This is Rachel and her cousins Ethan and Abby. Little Abby passed away at 4 months old. Love you Abby.
Rachel had to dress western for the day at camp.
Rachel's Lola (grandmother). She doesn't get to see her very often. My husband's side of the family live in California and we're in Virginia.
Rachel's jewelry box I made. I used a Making Memories white embellishment box and altered it.
This Rachel when she was 3. She was "helping" her older cousins at the go-kart track.
Me and my husband Reggie.
My cousin Austin and his wife Amy on their wedding day.
Rachel and her Kindergarten teacher. She absolutely loves school. I hope that love lasts.
Me, my baby sister Kelly and my little brother Wayne. Wayne passed away this past November. He was 43 years old. Love you brother!
Just a place for me to journal what I'm doing with my scrapbooking. This year looks to be a busy one!

Wow!
I can't believe that I haven't posted anything since last October. It makes me kinda sad actually. I haven't felt like doing much of anything really. I'm going to try to do better, promise. :) Sometime between now and Monday, I will post a few of the layouts that I've managed to finish and hopefully I'll be able to complete the countdown calendar that I've been wanting to do for Rachel. This one will be to count the days till her 6th birthday (and to use every year until she tires of it). LOL April 22nd isn't that far away so I had better get crackin'!

Layouts from Scrap Pink
Here are some of the layouts I got done during Scrap Pink. I didn't do a lot of embellishing with these.
Advent Calendar
Here's part of what I got accomplished during our Scrap Pink crop this past weekend. I used a Karen Foster 3D Countdown Calendar to accomplish this.

Hello Friends!
I'm sorry that I haven't kept up with my blog (I'm apologizing mostly to myself), life has been crazy and I haven't been doing a whole lot of scrappin' lately. However, I did attend a Scrap Pink crop this past weekend and I managed to complete an advent calendar for my daughter and I even managed to get some layouts done. I'll post pics tonight (hopefully) of what I managed to accomplish and with some luck, I'll be able to get back into the scrappin' groove. I have a 3 day scrapping retreat in February. That should be an adventure for sure!

Croppin' On Friday!
All I wanted for my birthday was a whole day to crop with my best friend and not have to worry about anything. I took off from work on Friday and I get to work on fun stuff!!! Don't know exactly what pics I'm going to work on but I'll post what I did sometime this weekend. (I'm so excited.) AND for National Scrapbook Month, I'm going to an all day crop on May 2nd. I can barely contain myself. Okay, I'm exaggerating a bit but I'm a happy girl! LOL

Here's another card for a challenge.

This challenge is called "Cropped" (modeled off the food network show "Chopped"). We get a list of items and we have to use all of them. This round was a card/tag. I had to use one inch squares of patterned paper, flowers, floral paper, and naked chipboard. I actually used two pieces of naked chipboard (the scalloped circles). I inked them and embossed the bottom circle with sparkle emboss powder and the top with clear emboss powder, glued the smaller one to the bigger one and added stones to both. I chalked the paper (it was lime green and then I thought better of it). We'll see if I fare any better this time! LOL

A Beginning

YAY!
It looks like I'll be taking off from work on Friday and cropping ALL DAY LONG (God willing) with my bestest buddy! I'm excited because I have so much to do. I need to do a tutorial or two for my online scrapbooking group (it's way overdue but they are the best bunch of ladies and so understanding). I'm going to put all of my years of Christmas photos away and concentrate on my Grandmother's album. I really truly want her to see it through to completion but you just never know what God's plans are, so I'm going to work on this all day (and those tutorials which shouldn't take too long). I need to get my spring fling swap together and in the mail on Friday also. Well, I'm getting ready to go to mom's and go over some more pictures with my grandmother, so I'll sign off for now. Take care everyone!
