Here are some of the layouts I got done during Scrap Pink. I didn't do a lot of embellishing with these.
Just a place for me to journal what I'm doing with my scrapbooking. This year looks to be a busy one!

Advent Calendar
Here's part of what I got accomplished during our Scrap Pink crop this past weekend. I used a Karen Foster 3D Countdown Calendar to accomplish this.

Hello Friends!
I'm sorry that I haven't kept up with my blog (I'm apologizing mostly to myself), life has been crazy and I haven't been doing a whole lot of scrappin' lately. However, I did attend a Scrap Pink crop this past weekend and I managed to complete an advent calendar for my daughter and I even managed to get some layouts done. I'll post pics tonight (hopefully) of what I managed to accomplish and with some luck, I'll be able to get back into the scrappin' groove. I have a 3 day scrapping retreat in February. That should be an adventure for sure!

Croppin' On Friday!
All I wanted for my birthday was a whole day to crop with my best friend and not have to worry about anything. I took off from work on Friday and I get to work on fun stuff!!! Don't know exactly what pics I'm going to work on but I'll post what I did sometime this weekend. (I'm so excited.) AND for National Scrapbook Month, I'm going to an all day crop on May 2nd. I can barely contain myself. Okay, I'm exaggerating a bit but I'm a happy girl! LOL

Here's another card for a challenge.
This challenge is called "Cropped" (modeled off the food network show "Chopped"). We get a list of items and we have to use all of them. This round was a card/tag. I had to use one inch squares of patterned paper, flowers, floral paper, and naked chipboard. I actually used two pieces of naked chipboard (the scalloped circles). I inked them and embossed the bottom circle with sparkle emboss powder and the top with clear emboss powder, glued the smaller one to the bigger one and added stones to both. I chalked the paper (it was lime green and then I thought better of it). We'll see if I fare any better this time! LOL

A Beginning

YAY!
It looks like I'll be taking off from work on Friday and cropping ALL DAY LONG (God willing) with my bestest buddy! I'm excited because I have so much to do. I need to do a tutorial or two for my online scrapbooking group (it's way overdue but they are the best bunch of ladies and so understanding). I'm going to put all of my years of Christmas photos away and concentrate on my Grandmother's album. I really truly want her to see it through to completion but you just never know what God's plans are, so I'm going to work on this all day (and those tutorials which shouldn't take too long). I need to get my spring fling swap together and in the mail on Friday also. Well, I'm getting ready to go to mom's and go over some more pictures with my grandmother, so I'll sign off for now. Take care everyone!

Looks Promising!
I sat down with my grandma tonite (she's a captive audience since she can't get out of bed) and we went through the first box of pictures. She got such a kick out of looking at the pictures and trying to figure out the dates of the pics. They didn't write names or dates on pics hardly at all! Thank goodness we have digital cameras now that does it for us huh? Well, I guess it doesn't help with the names. LOL Anyway, here are a few of my favorite pics out of the box and I just wanted to share them.
The first pic is my grandma's graduation picture from 1936. Her grandpa told her that this is the best picture she will ever have taken. She said she didn't know if that was a compliment or not! LOL
This second picture is of my mother when she was 4 years old. So cute!
Then here's me from the 6th grade... (just threw that in because I could) LOL!!! Looking at my pic and my grandma's pic, I really do take after her (I think).
I'm looking forward to Friday. I'm hoping to get at least one or two pages done.

Still Hanging in There
My Grandmother is still hanging in there! She can't live on her own anymore so we're cleaning out her apartment and my sister came across 4 boxes of pictures! There are some very old pictures in there. So, tomorrow night I'm going to go to my mom's and sit down with her and take notes on pictures with her for as long as she can handle it. I'm sure we'll need several sit downs to get notes on all the pics she has stored in those boxes. She even has her graduation announcement from 1939! I thought that was pretty cool. I told her I was going to scan them and make copies but she wasn't understanding why I wouldn't use the originals. I explained that someone else might want a copy of her pics too. (I didn't want to say that I was afraid that I might mess up and the pic would be lost forever.) Anyway, I'm very excited about making an album with these pics. I'm used to doing newer pics. It should be fun. I'm hoping to get some done for her to see. We'll see how it goes!

Patience
Life's kinda rough for our family lately. We're all pitching in to help take care of our ailing grandmother. So I'll update with some new projects as soon as I'm able. Thanks! Sheri

Croppin' Time!
Well it looks likes I get to crop with my bestest buddy on Friday! I'm very excited. I have soooo many Christmas pics to put into layouts. I'll post a few this weekend. I might even have time to do some cropping at home since I'm off on Mon (MLK Day) and Tues (Inauguration Day). We'll see what happens! I've gathered as much Holiday embellies, paper, ribbon, etc., as I can so that I can be prepared. Wow, I might even be able to get it all done. I know, I know, calm down. LOL

Some of the Pages I've Done
The picture above was for a challenge in my scrapbooking group. We were supposed to incorporate arrows in our layout.
The picture below was for a black and white challenge.
This is a page out of Rachel's 8x8 album that I actually completed during one of my 11 hour crops at Scrapdoodles (my local scrapbooking store). I used Glimmer Mists and distressing ink on the flowers and took the back off of some brads to use for the center of the flowers. I tore paper and inked the edges with distressing ink and added some embellishments.
I did this page a while back. This was my first attempt with buttons and a fancy corner punch.
This layout is also from a while back. I used two different types of textured papers and added some metal embellies. Nothing fancy with this at all but I was so pleased with the way it turned out.
This layout is from my first challenge. We were to use a bunch of different types of alphas to create the titling on the page. Some of the letters were predone chipboard and some of the chipboard I inked and/or embossed and added a little bling to some.

Well, my first Christmas card was a hit this year. I glued this card to the front of a small frame and then I used a piece of ribbon and tied a gift card to the front of it. I also made two others but forgot to take pics of them. My cousin was funny, he didn't understand and was trying to take the card off of the frame to see what else was inside. It was good for a laugh, and we managed to stop him before he tore it up. So I think I'll be making more Christmas cards during the year to give out next Christmas!
